General comments
Recidieven kunnen optreden, vooral indien de profylaxe niet wordt gecontinueerd.
De diagnostiek en behandeling van malaria dient altijd in overleg met de consulent kinderinfectieziekten/microbioloog/parasitoloog plaats te vinden.
Indien chloroquine (of hydroxychloroquine) niet beschikbaar is, dan kan worden behandeld conform het advies bij Malaria tropica.
Malaria is een meldingsplichtige ziekte Categorie C
