General comments
Behandeling van kinkhoestinfecties zijn alleen zinvol indien dit in het catarrhale stadium gebeurt. Om de transmissie naar jonge zuigelingen (leeftijd tot een jaar) in het gezin te voorkómen is het ook in latere stadia van de ziekte geindiceerd behandeling/chemoprofylaxe aan gezinsleden aan te bieden.
