General comments

  • In principe niet behandelen tenzij er geen andere oorzaken voor de (langdurige) buik- en/of diarreeklachten zijn vastgesteld

  • De pathogeniciteit van deze darmprotozoa is omstreden.

  • Paromomycine zou mogelijk een hoger eradicatiepercentage bereiken dan metronidazol (Hellemond 2013).

  • Paromomycine is in Nederland niet geregistreerd maar is een zogeheten "ZFW-middel".
