metronidazol 15mg/kg 3dd 7 days

Direct gevolgd door contactamoebicide behandeling:

  • 1e keuze clioquinol po 5mg/kg (suspensie LNA 100mg/ml) 3dd gedurende 10 dagen

General comments

  • Bij een (cumulatieve) dosis van 10–50 gram clioquinol is er meer kans op neurotoxiciteit waardoor clioquinol niet hoog te doseren in een korte periode. Bij herhaalde behandeling wordt 3 kuren per jaar met enkele maanden ertussen, aanbevolen.
