General comments
Patiëntengroepen die in aanmerking komen voor behandeling met fidaxomicine voor een eerste CDI:
Bij kinderen onder de twee jaar oud is de aanwezigheid van Clostridium difficile in principe niet met klinische symptomen geassocieerd en is het dus niet geindiceerd hier diagnostiek naar in te zetten.
Stop zo mogelijk verantwoordelijk antibioticum, en isoleer patiënt.
Er is alleen een behandelindicatie indien er diarree is. Het behandelen van asymptomatische dragers is niet zinvol.
